SEE ALSO...

EHD2 Antibody (G-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects EHD2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). EHD2 (G-3) antibody is available as the non-conjugated form. Eps15 homology domain (EHD)-containing proteins, including EHD2, play a crucial role in the exit of receptors and other membrane proteins from the endosomal recycling compartment, which is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating membrane protein levels. EHD2, also known as PAST2, is a 543 amino acid protein characterized by one EF-hand domain and one EH domain, and shows predominant expression in the heart, with lower expression levels in the lung, placenta, and skeletal muscle. The EH domain structure facilitates interactions with various binding partners, including the glucose transporter Glut4 and the endocytotic-associated protein EHBP1. When EHD2 associates with insulin-induced Glut4, EHD2 plays a pivotal role in recruiting Glut4 to the plasma membrane, enabling glucose uptake and thus regulating blood sugar levels. EHD2′s interaction with EHBP1 connects endocytotic processes with actin cytoskeleton dynamics, highlighting EHD2′s importance in both glucose homeostasis and the regulation of endocytosis.
