SEE ALSO...

Eg5 Antibody (F-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Eg5 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Eg5 antibody (F-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Eg5, also known as kinesin-like protein KIF11 or TRIP5, plays a crucial role in eukaryotic cell division as a slow, plus-end-directed microtubule-based motor protein belonging to the BimC kinesin family. Eg5′s primary function is to facilitate bipolar spindle formation, which is essential for accurate chromosome segregation during mitosis. Disruption of Eg5 expression leads to the cessation of centrosome migration, resulting in cells being arrested in mitosis with monoastral microtubule arrays, highlighting Eg5′s importance in maintaining proper cell cycle progression. Additionally, Eg5 undergoes post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation on serine residues during the S phase and on both serine and threonine 927 during mitosis, which are critical for regulating Eg5′s interaction with the spindle apparatus, particularly during early prophase. Furthermore, Eg5 is a member of the thyroid receptor interacting protein family and interacts with the thyroid hormone receptor in the presence of thyroid hormone, indicating Eg5′s potential role in hormone signaling pathways.

What is the likelihood this antibody would work in zebrafish?

Asked by: SXR1
Thank you for your question. Anti-Eg5 Antibody (F-1): sc-374212 is only recommended for detection of Eg5 of human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA. We do not recommend it for detecting its target protein in any other species. It is unlikely that this product would detect SXR1 in Zebrafish.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-374212 P appropriate for?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
