Eg5 Antibody (A-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects KIF11 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-KIF11 antibody (A-1) targets KIF11, a crucial microtubule-based motor protein belonging to the BimC kinesin family, which plays a vital role in bipolar spindle formation during eukaryotic cell division. KIF11 monoclonal antibody (A-1) recognizes a protein essential for accurate chromosome segregation, as KIF11 inhibition leads to mitotic arrest with monoastral microtubule arrays, ultimately affecting cell proliferation and tissue homeostasis. KIF11 is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where KIF11 interacts with microtubules to facilitate cellular component movement and ensure correct mitotic spindle assembly. Additionally, KIF11 undergoes post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation on serine residues during S phase and on both serine and threonine 927 during mitosis, which are critical for regulating spindle apparatus association, particularly during early prophase. Furthermore, KIF11 interacts with thyroid hormone receptor in the presence of thyroid hormone, linking KIF11 function to hormonal signaling pathways that influence cell division and differentiation.
