SEE ALSO...

EF-2 (C-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects EF-2 protein of mouse, rat and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). EF-2 (C-9) antibody is available as non-conjugated anti-EF-2 antibody form and multiple conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Two elongation factors (EF) EF-Tu and EF-2 participate in elongation phase during protein biosynthesis on ribosomes, with functional cycles depending on GTP binding and hydrolysis. EF-Tu (mitochondrial precursor p43) and EF-2 are multidomain GTPases essential for translation, binding to identical ribosomal sites where GTPase activities are strongly stimulated. EF-Tu delivers aminoacyl-tRNAs to translating ribosomes quickly and accurately while protecting aminoester bonds against hydrolysis until correct codon-anticodon matching occurs. EF-2 facilitates tRNA and mRNA translocation on ribosomes to expose new codons for decoding.

Can EF-2 (C-9): sc-166415 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. Yes, EF-2 (C-9): sc-166415 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EF-2 Antikörper (C-9): sc-166415Very good signal and works great as a loading control in western blots. Works very well with high dilution as well. Blocking of nitrocullulose membrane with 5% milk suits the antibody very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from successfullyThis is exactly what we need. The two elongation factors EF-Tu and EF-2 are involved in the prolongation of protein biosynthesis on ribosomes, and their functional cycle is dependent on GTP binding and its hydrolysis. With this feature, I successfully cracked the test problems
