SEE ALSO...

Edc4 Antibody (H-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects Edc4 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Edc4 antibody (H-12) is available as non-conjugated format. Edc4, also known as enhancer of mRNA decapping 4, plays a pivotal role in regulating mRNA decay, a crucial process for maintaining cellular homeostasis and gene expression. Edc4 (H-12) antibody recognizes a protein involved in mRNA degradation′s decapping step, essential for mRNA molecule turnover and gene expression regulation in response to various cellular signals. Edc4 interacts with several key proteins, including hDcp1a and hDcp2a, forming a complex that facilitates decapping. Such interaction enables efficient mRNA removal, influencing mRNA stability and availability for translation. Edc4 localizes to processing bodies (P-bodies) and cytoplasm, with a nuclear localization sequence allowing nuclear entry, highlighting multiple roles in cellular processes. Post-translational modifications, such as phosphorylation in response to DNA damage, can affect Edc4 function and interactions. Located on human chromosome 16q22.1, Edc4 exists in two alternatively spliced isoforms, underscoring complexity and importance in mRNA metabolism.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-376382 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
