SEE ALSO...

Ect2 Antibody (G-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Ect2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Ect2 antibody (G-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Ect2 protein plays a crucial role in regulating the actin cytoskeleton, which is essential for various cellular processes such as cell division, migration, and shape maintenance. Specifically, Ect2 acts as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) for RhoA, a member of the Rho family of GTPases, which are pivotal in controlling the dynamics of the cytoskeleton. By facilitating the exchange of GDP for GTP on RhoA, Ect2 promotes the activation of downstream signaling pathways that lead to actin polymerization and the formation of contractile structures, thereby influencing cell motility and morphology. The significance of Ect2 in these processes is highlighted by its involvement in cancer progression, where irregular regulation of the actin cytoskeleton can contribute to increased cell invasiveness and metastasis. Ect2 monoclonal antibody (G-4) serves as a valuable tool for researchers studying the molecular mechanisms underlying cell behavior and the role of GTPases in health and disease.
