SEE ALSO...

EBP Antibody (A-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects EBP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). EBP (A-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. EBP protein, also known as emopamil-binding protein, CPX, CHO2, CPXD, or CDPX2, is a 230 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein primarily located in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). This localization is crucial as EBP plays a significant role in steroid biosynthesis, specifically catalyzing the conversion of Delta(8)-sterols to their corresponding Delta(7)-isomers, which is essential for maintaining cholesterol homeostasis and facilitating drug transport within the ER. Importantly, defects in the gene encoding EBP can lead to chondrodysplasia punctata X-linked dominant type 2 (CDPX2), a disorder characterized by defective cholesterol biosynthesis that manifests as punctiform calcification of bones, linear ichthyosis, cataracts, and short stature. Anti-EBP antibody (A-9) effectively detects this protein across multiple applications, making EBP (A-9) monoclonal antibody a valuable tool for researchers studying cholesterol metabolism and related disorders.
