Ebi2 Antibody (G-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Ebi2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Ebi2 (G-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The Epstein-Barr virus-induced gene 2 (Ebi2) is a 357 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein predominantly expressed in B-lymphocytes and lymphoid tissues, playing a crucial role in modulating the immune system. Ebi2 is a G-protein coupled receptor that signals through G-protein Gαi, and contains seven hydrophobic transmembrane regions along with a putative N-linked glycosylation site at its extracellular N-terminus, which is essential for proper protein folding and function. This glycosylation can influence receptor activity and stability, thereby affecting signaling pathways that regulate B-lymphocyte responses. Notably, Ebi2 exhibits the highest levels of up-regulation among nine genes induced by Epstein-Barr virus, indicating a significant role in viral pathogenesis and potential involvement in mediating normal lymphocyte functions.
