  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 239-268 at the C-terminus of EB1 of human origin
  • recommended for detection of EB1 of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA; also reactive with additional species, including and equine, canine, bovine and porcine
  • See EB1 (1A11/4): sc-47704 for EB1 antibody conjugates, including AC, HRP, FITC, PE, Alexa Fluor® 488, 594, 647, 680 and 790.
  • m-IgGκ BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for EB1 Antibody (F-7) for WB and IHC(P) applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with EB1 Antibody (F-7) (see ordering information below). For additional m-IgGκ BP conjugates see our complete list of Mouse IgG Binding Proteins.

SEE ALSO...

EB1 Antibody (F-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgA antibody that detects EB1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). EB1, also known as microtubule-associated protein RP/EB family member 1 (MAPRE1) or APC-binding protein EB1, plays a crucial role in the regulation of microtubule dynamics, which is essential for various cellular processes such as cell division, intracellular transport, and maintaining cell shape. EB1 (F-7) antibody interacts with the plus ends of growing microtubules, facilitating their stabilization and promoting the formation of microtubule structures necessary for effective cellular function. Dysregulation of EB1 has been implicated in tumorigenesis, particularly in colorectal cancers, where EB1 may influence the transition from normal colonic epithelium to adenomatous polyps and invasive cancer. Notably, EB1 binds to the carboxy terminal region of the adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) tumor suppressor protein, suggesting a significant role in modulating APC′s function in cancer suppression. Overexpression of EB1 can disrupt this interaction, potentially leading to aberrant activation of the β-catenin/TCF signaling pathway, which is a critical factor in the development of various cancers, including human esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-374474 P appropriate for?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
