SEE ALSO...

EB1 Antibody (1A11/4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects EB1 protein of human, canine, and monkey origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). EB1 (1A11/4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. EB1, also known as microtubule-associated protein RP/EB family member 1 (MAPRE1) or APC-binding protein EB1, plays a crucial role in microtubule dynamics and is essential for proper cell division and intracellular transport. MAPRE1 function is particularly important in cancer biology, as EB1 regulates the adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) tumor suppressor protein, which prevents colorectal cancer. Mutations in APC can lead to loss of regulatory functions, resulting in uncontrolled cell proliferation and tumorigenesis. Through binding to APC′s carboxy terminal region, EB1 helps mediate tumor-suppressive effects, and dysregulation of MAPRE1 expression has been implicated in various cancers, including esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. EB1′s influence on microtubule stability and interactions with other proteins in signaling pathways further underscore MAPRE1′s significance in both normal cellular processes and cancer progression.

Will this antibody work for immunofluorescence protocols on Drosophila cells?

Asked by: Matthew Savoian
Thank you for your question. We recommend this antibody for human, canine and monkey . There is a 68% homology in Drosophila. We only recommend a species if the homology is 95% or higher . We recommend this antibody for WB, IP, PAR.

Can EB1 (1A11/4): sc-47704 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, EB1 (1A11/4): sc-47704 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
