E2F-5 Antibody (H-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects E2F-5 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). E2F-5 plays a crucial role in the regulation of the cell cycle, particularly in the transition from the G1 phase to the S phase, by forming heterodimers with the DP-1 protein to create an active E2F transcriptional regulatory complex. This complex is essential for the transcriptional activation of genes that are vital for DNA synthesis and cell proliferation. Dysregulation of E2F-5 can lead to uncontrolled cell growth and has been implicated in various cancers, making E2F-5 a significant target for therapeutic intervention. E2F-5′s interaction with other members of the E2F family, such as E2F-1, E2F-2, and E2F-3, further highlights E2F-5′s importance in maintaining proper cell cycle control and potential as a biomarker for tumor progression. Anti-E2F-5 antibody (H-1) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying cell cycle dynamics and the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer development.

Hello, I'm looking for an E2F5 antibody that works for WB and ChIP. I saw that you have to E2F5 antibodies available and that the X version seems to work for ChIP (sc-271497-X/sc-374268-X). I wanted to know if these X versions also work for WB. Thanks!

Asked by: cma16
Thank you for your question. The X version can also be used for western blot with a starting dilution of 1:1000.

What blocking solution should I use with E2F-5 (H-1): sc-271497 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking with Blotto (either TBS Blotto A: sc-2333 or TBS Blotto B: sc-2335). Our Western blot protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
