SEE ALSO...

E2F-5 Antibody (C-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects E2F-5 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-E2F-5 antibody (C-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. E2F-5 plays a crucial role in regulating the cell cycle, particularly in the transition from G1 phase to S phase, by controlling the expression of genes necessary for DNA synthesis and cell proliferation. Such regulation maintains proper cell growth and division, while E2F-5 dysregulation can lead to uncontrolled cell proliferation, contributing to tumorigenesis. E2F-5 belongs to a larger family of E2F transcription factors, including E2F-1, E2F-2, E2F-3, E2F-4, E2F-6, and E2F-7, each forming heterodimers with DP-1 protein to create active transcriptional regulatory complexes. E2F-5′s interaction with other proteins, including retinoblastoma protein (Rb), underscores E2F-5′s importance in cell cycle regulation and highlights potential implications in cancer research and therapeutic development.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-374268 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
