Dysbindin Antibody (D-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Dysbindin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Dysbindin antibody (D-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Dysbindin plays a crucial role in the biogenesis of lysosome-related organelles, which is essential for proper functioning of various cellular processes, including protein trafficking and maintenance of cellular homeostasis. Dysbindin is particularly significant in Hermansky-Pudlak syndrome (HPS), a rare genetic disorder characterized by oculocutaneous albinism, lysosomal storage defects, and prolonged bleeding due to platelet storage pool deficiency. Dysbindin is involved in forming three distinct protein complexes vital for development and function of melanosomes, platelet dense granules, and lysosomes. Dysbindin interacts with dystrobrevins within the dystrophin-associated protein complex, highlighting its importance in cellular signaling and structural integrity. Additionally, Dysbindin exists in multiple isoforms due to alternative splicing, which may contribute to diverse functional roles in different tissues.
