Dynactin 2 Antibody (G-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Dynactin 2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Dynactin 2 antibody (G-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Dynactin 2, also known as DCTN2, Dynamitin, or DCTN50, is a crucial peripheral membrane protein that plays a significant role in the Dynactin complex, which is essential for the proper functioning of the Dynein microtubule motor. The Dynactin complex is vital for various cellular processes, including organelle transport and chromosome alignment during cell division. Dynactin 2 interacts with several other proteins, including Dynein and various cargo proteins, facilitating the transport of cellular components along microtubules. This interaction maintains cellular organization and function, as disruptions in Dynactin 2 levels can lead to severe consequences, such as impaired retrograde axonal transport and motor neuron degeneration. Overexpression of Dynactin 2 has been linked to cell cycle disruption and the potential development of osteosarcoma, highlighting its importance in both normal cellular processes and disease mechanisms.
