DP-3 Antibody (8G11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects DP-3 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). DP-3, also known as TFDP3 (transcription factor Dp family, member 3), HCA661 (hepatocellular carcinoma-associated antigen 661), or CT30 (cancer/testis antigen 30), is a 405 amino acid protein predominantly expressed in the testis, with lower levels found in other tissues. DP-3 plays a crucial role in regulating the activity of E2F transcription factor proteins, which are essential for cell cycle progression and apoptosis. The regulation of E2F activity by DP-3 is particularly important in the context of cancer, as DP-3 may influence tumor growth and metastasis. The gene encoding DP-3 is located on the X chromosome, which is significant not only for its role in sex determination but also for its association with various genetic disorders linked to abnormalities in sex chromosomes, such as Turner syndrome and Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
