SEE ALSO...

DNA pol δ 2 Antibody (D-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects DNA pol delta 2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-DNA pol δ 2 antibody (D-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. DNA pol delta 2 protein plays a crucial role in DNA replication, recombination, and repair, which are essential processes for maintaining genome stability. Specifically, DNA pol δ is involved in the synthesis of the lagging strand during DNA replication, where DNA pol δ processes Okazaki fragments, and participates in DNA repair mechanisms by excising damaged DNA and correcting mismatches. DNA pol delta 2 protein is composed of two subunits, p125 and p50, with p125 directly interacting with the sliding clamp protein PCNA, which is vital for enhancing polymerase processivity. DNA pol δ can be regulated by various cell cycle proteins, ensuring that DNA pol δ activity is tightly controlled during different phases of the cell cycle. Understanding the function and regulation of DNA pol δ is important for elucidating the mechanisms of genomic stability and potential implications in cancer biology, where dysregulation of DNA repair pathways can lead to tumorigenesis.
