DLK1 Antibody (B-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects DLK1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). DLK1 Antibody (B-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The human DLK1 gene is located on chromosome 14q32 and encodes a 383 amino acid protein known for its role as a transmembrane protein featuring six tandem epidermal growth factor-like repeats in its extracellular domain, which mediates cell signaling pathways. DLK1, also referred to as preadipocyte factor 1 (pref-1), ZOG, pG2, or FA1, regulates adipogenesis and inhibits preadipocyte differentiation into adipocytes, making DLK1 an important factor in metabolic processes. DLK1 expression occurs in tumors with neuroendocrine characteristics, such as neuroblastoma and pheochromocytoma cell lines, while normal tissue expression primarily remains confined to the adrenal gland and placenta. N-linked glycosylation results in multiple discrete forms of DLK1, which may influence functional interactions. Additionally, interactions between DLK1 proteins, whether from the same or different cells, or between soluble and membrane-bound variants, play a critical role in regulating biological functions, highlighting DLK1′s importance in both normal physiology and disease states.
