    SEE ALSO...

DLEC1 Antibody (D-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects DLEC1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). DLEC1 (D-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. DLEC1 protein, known as deleted in lung and esophageal cancer protein 1, plays a crucial role as a tumor suppressor, particularly in various carcinomas where expression is often lost due to chromosomal deletions on chromosome 3p. This 1,755 amino acid cytoplasmic protein is primarily located in the cytoplasm, which is significant because cytoplasmic localization is essential for function in inhibiting cell proliferation and invasion. Cytoplasmic presence of DLEC1 enables interaction with other signaling pathways that regulate cell growth and apoptosis, thereby contributing to tumor-suppressive properties. Introduction of DLEC1 cDNA into cancer cell lines has been shown to reduce invasiveness and suppress cell growth, highlighting potential as a therapeutic target. Methylation of DLEC1 promoter has been associated with poor prognosis in non-small cell lung carcinoma and nasopharyngeal carcinoma, underscoring importance in cancer biology. With highest expression levels found in kidney and prostate, DLEC1 exists in three isoforms due to alternative splicing, which may further influence functional roles in different tissues and cancer types.
