DinB Antibody (A-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects DinB protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). DinB antibody (A-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. DinB protein, also known as DNA polymerase IV or DNA polymerase k, is crucial for maintaining genomic stability, particularly during DNA replication under stress conditions. DinB functions as an SOS-inducible, error-prone polymerase that facilitates translesion DNA synthesis, allowing cells to bypass DNA lesions that would otherwise stall replication forks. This mechanism helps prevent accumulation of potentially harmful mutations arising from replication stress, playing a significant role in DNA damage-induced mutagenesis. DinB shows high expression in adrenal cortex and testis, with expression regulated by tumor suppressor protein p53, which responds to DNA-damaging agents by upregulating DinB. Understanding DinB′s role in DNA repair mechanisms remains essential for elucidating pathways that contribute to genomic integrity and potential implications in cancer biology.

When should the TransCruz reagent sc-166667 X be used instead of the standard form sc-166667?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. We recommend using the TransCruz reagent form when performing ChIP or GelShift assays. This form can also be used in other applications such as Western Blot or IHC, but the dilution should be adjusted by a factor of 10 to account for the higher original concentration.
