SEE ALSO...

Derlin-1 Antibody (1B9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Derlin-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Derlin-1 antibody (1B9) is available as a non-conjugated format. Derlin-1 plays a critical role in the endoplasmic reticulum-associated degradation (ERAD) pathway, which is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis by ensuring that misfolded proteins are efficiently identified and targeted for degradation. This process is vital because the accumulation of misfolded proteins can lead to cellular stress and contribute to various diseases, including neurodegenerative disorders and cancer. Derlin-1 is primarily localized in the endoplasmic reticulum, where Derlin-1 facilitates the translocation of misfolded proteins from the ER to the cytosol, allowing them to be ubiquitinated and subsequently degraded by the proteasome. Notably, during cytomegalovirus infection, Derlin-1 specifically interacts with viral protein US11 to aid in the export of MHC class I heavy chains from the ER, highlighting Derlin-1′s importance in both viral pathogenesis and immune response. Derlin-1 is widely expressed across various tissues, with highest levels found in the spleen, pancreas, lung, liver, thymus, and ovary, and Derlin-1′s dysregulation has been implicated in conditions such as hepatocarcinoma.

For Western Blot, is it recommended to use denatured or non-denatured conditions with Derlin-1 (1B9): sc-293385 antibody?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. We recommend this antibody for use in denatured Western Blot conditions. It has not been validated for use in non-denatured conditions. Please contact our Technical Service Department for further details or inquiries.
