DECR1 Antibody (G-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects DECR1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). DECR1 (G-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. DECR1, or 2,4-dienoyl-CoA reductase, mitochondrial, is a crucial 335 amino acid mitochondrial protein that plays a significant role in the metabolism of unsaturated fatty acids. DECR1 is expressed in vital tissues such as the heart, pancreas, liver, lung, kidney, and skeletal muscle, where DECR1 functions as an auxiliary enzyme in the beta-oxidation pathway. This process is essential for energy production, as DECR1 breaks down acyl-CoA to generate Acetyl-CoA, the primary substrate for the Krebs cycle. DECR1 catalyzes the reduction of 2,4-dienoyl-CoA to trans-3-enoyl-CoA using NADP+, facilitating the conversion of unsaturated fatty acids into forms that can be utilized for energy. DECR1 is believed to have tumor suppressor properties, potentially inhibiting the expression of oncogenes such as Neu, thereby contributing to the regulation of tumorigenesis.

Dear sir Can DECR1 Antibody (G-10): sc-393473, used to detect mouse Decr1? Thanks

Asked by: AmrGhanam
Thank you for your question. We have not yet tested this antibody in mouse samples, and so that is not a recommended species at this time.

Can DECR1 (G-10): sc-393473 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. Yes, DECR1 (G-10): sc-393473 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
