DDX21 Antibody (D-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects DDX21 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-DDX21 antibody (D-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. DDX21, also known as DEAD (Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp) box polypeptide 21, is a 783 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in RNA metabolism, particularly in unwinding double-stranded RNA and folding single-stranded RNA into secondary structures. This function is vital for processes such as ribosome and spliceosome assembly, which are essential for proper gene expression and cellular function. DDX21 is localized in the nucleus, where DDX21 is part of the multi-protein B-WICH complex, and DDX21 activity is influenced by various post-translational modifications that can affect helicase activity and interactions with other proteins. Notably, DDX21 has been identified as an autoantigen in individuals with watermelon stomach disease, a condition characterized by chronic gastrointestinal bleeding, highlighting DDX21 potential role in disease mechanisms.
