DC-SIGN/DC-SIGNR Antibody (B-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects DC-SIGN/DC-SIGNR protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). DC-SIGN/DC-SIGNR (B-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. DC-SIGN, also known as CD209, plays a crucial role in immune response by mediating interaction between dendritic cells and T cells, particularly during initial stages of HIV-1 infection. This type II membrane protein is primarily expressed on dendritic cells, which are essential antigen-presenting cells located in peripheral mucosal tissues that migrate to lymphoid organs. DC-SIGN binding to ICAM-3 facilitates formation of an immunological synapse, enhancing efficiency of T cell activation. Additionally, DC-SIGNR, or CD209L, is closely related to DC-SIGN and is expressed on sinusoidal endothelial cells, where DC-SIGNR interacts with E2 glycoproteins of hepatitis C virus, highlighting importance of these proteins in viral pathogenesis and immune regulation.
