DAP-1 Antibody (C-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects DAP-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-DAP-1 antibody (C-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. DAP-1, or death-associated protein 1, plays a crucial role in the regulation of apoptosis, particularly in response to external signals such as FAS ligand and tumor necrosis factors, which are known to induce programmed cell death. DAP-1 is primarily located in the cytoplasm and is expressed in gamma interferon-induced HeLa cells, where DAP-1 interacts with the death domain of TNF receptor 1, thereby facilitating the apoptotic process. DAP-1 modulates cell death pathways by triggering apoptosis in various cell lines and suppressing NFκB/Rel activity, which is often associated with inflammatory responses and cancer progression. Using DAP-1 (C-8) antibody in research can provide valuable insights into apoptosis mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets for diseases characterized by dysregulated cell death.
