Cytokeratin 6 Antibody (Ks6.KA12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Cytokeratin 6 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Cytokeratin 6 is a vital member of the cytokeratin family, which consists of intermediate filament proteins that are crucial for maintaining the structural integrity and function of epithelial cells. These proteins are predominantly located in the cytoplasm of epithelial cells, where they form a network that provides mechanical support and resilience against stress. The presence of Cytokeratin 6 is particularly important in the epidermis, as Cytokeratin 6 constitutes a significant portion of the keratinocyte population, contributing to the barrier function of the skin. Additionally, anti-Cytokeratin 6 antibody (Ks6.KA12) serves as a marker for epithelial differentiation and is instrumental in the diagnosis and characterization of various malignant tumors, making Cytokeratin 6 (Ks6.KA12) monoclonal antibody a valuable tool in both research and clinical settings. The gene encoding human Cytokeratin 6A, the dominant isoform in epithelial tissues, is located on chromosome 12q13, and mutations in this gene can lead to a range of inherited skin and hair disorders. Anti-Cytokeratin 6 antibody (Ks6.KA12) is therefore an essential reagent for studying epithelial biology and pathology, providing insights into both normal and disease states.
