    SEE ALSO...

CYP2F1 Antibody (E-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CYP2F1 protein of human origin and CYP2F2 protein of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CYP2F1 (E-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CYP2F1, or cytochrome P450 2F1, is a crucial membrane-bound protein predominantly localized to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane, particularly within lung tissue. CYP2F1 plays a vital role in the metabolism of potentially carcinogenic pneumotoxins, which is significant given the increasing concerns about air quality and respiratory health. CYP2F1′s polymorphic nature can influence individual susceptibility to these toxins, as CYP2F1 catalyzes redox reactions that can either detoxify or activate harmful compounds. Specifically, within Clara cells, CYP2F1 converts Skatole (3-methylindole) into 3-methyleneindolenine, an electrophile that can form dangerous protein adducts, thereby disrupting cellular functions. Notably, Skatole has been used as a flavoring agent in cigarettes, highlighting the relevance of CYP2F1 in toxicology and public health. Additionally, CYP2F2 serves as the murine homolog of human CYP2F1, allowing for comparative studies across species.
