CYP27B1 Antibody (G-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects CYP27B1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CYP27B1 (G-5) antibody is available as the non-conjugated form. CYP27B1, a member of the cytochrome P450 family, plays a crucial role in vitamin D metabolism, specifically catalyzing the conversion of 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 (25(OH)D) to its active form, 1-alpha,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 (1,25(OH)2D). This enzymatic activity maintains calcium homeostasis, promotes normal bone growth, and facilitates tissue differentiation. Proper functioning of CYP27B1 remains essential, as deficiencies or mutations in the gene encoding CYP27B1 can lead to vitamin D-dependent rickets type 1 (VDDR-1), a serious condition characterized by rickets, hypocalcemia, and muscle weakness. Localization of CYP27B1 in kidney cell mitochondria underscores CYP27B1′s importance in renal physiology and systemic calcium regulation. Using anti-CYP27B1 antibody (G-5) in various applications helps researchers gain insights into CYP27B1′s role in vitamin D metabolism and related disorders.

We are trying to knockdown the CYP28B1 using a sRNA cocktail. We performed the western after treatment with siRNA. Silencing was observed but we are now having one more band just above the CYP27B1 band which is only present in siRNA treated samples.
