CYP19 Antibody (E-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody raised against amino acids 204–503 located at the C-terminus of human CYP19. CYP19, also known as aromatase, estrogen synthase, or cytochrome P450 family 19 subfamily A member 1, is a crucial enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of androgens to estrogens. Specifically, CYP19 transforms testosterone into estradiol and androstenedione into estrone, playing a pivotal role in steroidogenesis. This enzymatic function is essential for sexual development and reproductive processes, influencing estrogen levels in various tissues such as the placenta, gonads, adipose tissue, skin, and brain. Abnormal expression or activity of CYP19 has been associated with conditions like breast cancer, familial gynecomastia, and other estrogen-dependent disorders, highlighting its significance in medical research and potential therapeutic interventions. anti-CYP19 antibody (E-9) specifically detects human CYP19 in applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Available in both non-conjugated and multiple conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and various Alexa Fluor® conjugates, CYP19 (E-9) antibody serves as a versatile tool for studying CYP19 expression and function across diverse biological contexts.
