SEE ALSO...

cyclin T1 Antibody (E-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects cyclin T1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). cyclin T1 (E-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. cyclin T1 plays a crucial role in the regulation of transcription elongation by forming a complex with cyclin-dependent kinase 9 (Cdk9), which is essential for the phosphorylation of the C-terminal domain of RNA polymerase II. This phosphorylation is vital for the transition from transcription initiation to elongation, thereby influencing gene expression. Notably, cyclin T1 interacts with the HIV-1 Tat protein, enhancing its binding affinity to the viral TAR RNA, which is critical for the recruitment of the cyclin T1/Cdk9 complex to RNA polymerase II. The human positive transcription elongation factor b (P-TEFb) is composed of Cdk9 and either cyclin T1 or cyclin T2, with cyclin T1 being specifically required for the Tat-mediated transcriptional activation of HIV-1. The unique interaction of cyclin T1 with Tat, as opposed to cyclin T2, underscores its importance in viral transcription and highlights its potential as a target for therapeutic intervention in HIV-related diseases.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-271348 P appropriate for?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
