Cyclin K Antibody (G-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects cyclin K protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-cyclin K antibody (G-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Cyclin K plays a pivotal role in forming positive transcription elongation factor b (P-TEFb) complexes, which are essential for RNA elongation by RNA polymerase II (RNAPII). These complexes, composed of catalytic subunit cyclin-dependent kinase 9 (Cdk9) and regulatory cyclins such as CycT1, CycT2a, CycT2b, or cyclin K, facilitate phosphorylation of the carboxyl-terminal domain of the largest RNAPII subunit, promoting transcriptional elongation. Cyclin K directly influences gene expression and cellular function through this process. Cyclin K shows ubiquitous expression across various adult mouse and human tissues, with particularly high levels in developing germ cells of adult testis and ovaries, as well as in HepG2 cells. Cyclin K gene encodes a 357 amino acid protein and resides on human chromosome 14q32.2, highlighting significance in both normal physiology and potential disease states.
