Cyclin D3 Antibody (18B6-10) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects cyclin D3 p34 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting, immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Cyclin D3 (18B6-10) antibody is offered in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase, phycoerythrin, fluorescein isothiocyanate, and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Cyclin D3 plays a pivotal role in cell cycle regulation, particularly during the G1 to S phase transition, where cyclin D3 is essential for the progression of cells from a quiescent state to active division. This transition is crucial for proper cellular proliferation and growth, as cyclin D3 ensures that cells only replicate their DNA and divide when they are ready, thus preventing uncontrolled cell growth that can lead to tumorigenesis. The cyclin D family, including cyclin D3, is known to interact with cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) to phosphorylate the retinoblastoma protein, which in turn activates E2F transcription factors that drive the expression of genes necessary for DNA synthesis. The dysregulation of cyclin D3 and its associated pathways has been implicated in various cancers, highlighting cyclin D3′s importance as a target for therapeutic intervention and as a biomarker for disease progression.
