SEE ALSO...

cyclin B1 Antibody (V152) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody raised against His-tagged recombinant cyclin B1 of hamster origin, reacting with mouse, rat, hamster, and human species. Cyclin B1, also known as G2/mitotic-specific cyclin-B1 or CCNB1, is a crucial regulatory protein that controls the transition from G2 phase to mitosis in the cell cycle by forming a complex with cyclin-dependent kinase 1 (CDK1). This complex, known as the maturation-promoting factor (MPF), initiates mitosis by phosphorylating target substrates essential for cell division. Cyclin B1 undergoes significant post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation and ubiquitination, which regulate activity, localization, and degradation. Phosphorylation affects interaction with CDK1 and nuclear translocation, while ubiquitination targets for proteasomal degradation, ensuring proper cell cycle progression. The precise regulation of these modifications is vital for maintaining normal cell proliferation, and dysregulation can lead to uncontrolled growth and cancer. Anti-cyclin B1 antibody (V152) is suitable for applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). By targeting cyclin B1, researchers can study expression, post-translational modifications, and role in cell cycle regulation, contributing to a better understanding of cellular proliferation and potential therapeutic targets.

Can cyclin B1 (V152): sc-53236 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, cyclin B1 (V152): sc-53236 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
