Cyclin A Antibody (B-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects cyclin A protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-cyclin A antibody (B-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Cyclin A plays a pivotal role in regulating the eukaryotic cell cycle, particularly during S phase, where cyclin A is essential for proper DNA replication progression. Cyclin A is primarily located in the nucleus, where cyclin A associates with cyclin-dependent kinase-2 (Cdk2) to form a complex crucial for transitioning from G1 phase to S phase of the cell cycle. Nuclear localization of cyclin A enables regulation of key processes such as DNA synthesis and cell division, making cyclin A critical for cellular proliferation and development. Cyclin A has been implicated in various cellular transformations and interacts with several important proteins, including E1A, transcription factors DRTF1 and E2F, and retinoblastoma protein, p110.
