CUTA Antibody (H-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CUTA protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-CUTA antibody (H-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CUTA protein, also known as acetylcholinesterase-associated protein (ACHAP), consists of 179 amino acids and serves as the mammalian homolog of the cutA protein found in E. coli, exhibiting ubiquitous expression, particularly in brain tissue. Notably, CUTA exists as multiple alternatively spliced isoforms and functions as a homotrimer, playing a crucial role in the formation of an acetylcholinesterase (AChE)-attached complex, which is essential for the regulation of AChE activity. This regulation is vital for maintaining proper neurotransmission and muscle function, as AChE is responsible for the breakdown of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine.
