Cubilin Antibody (H-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects cubilin protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-cubilin antibody (H-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Cubilin serves as an essential endocytic receptor, playing a critical role in the absorption of vital nutrients such as vitamin B12 and apolipoprotein A1. Cubilin′s unique structure, which includes an amino terminal segment followed by eight epidermal growth factor-like repeats and a series of 27 CUB domains, allows effective binding to ligands and facilitates their internalization. The gene encoding cubilin is located on chromosome 10 and is predominantly expressed in the intestine, kidney, and yolk sac, with significant presence in intestinal membranes. Cubilin interacts with megalin, another receptor crucial for the internalization of cubilin-bound ligands, highlighting cubilin′s importance in nutrient uptake and cellular homeostasis. Mutations in the cubilin gene can lead to megaloblastic anemia 1 (MGA1), an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by vitamin B12 malabsorption, underscoring cubilin′s vital role in human health.
