SEE ALSO...

CTL2 Antibody (F7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CTL2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CTL2 antibody (F7) is available as the non-conjugated form. CTL2, also known as SLC44A2 (solute carrier family 44 member 2), is a multi-pass membrane protein primarily located in the inner ear, where CTL2 plays a crucial role in choline transport, an essential nutrient necessary for acetylcholine and phosphatidylcholine synthesis. CTL2 function is vital, as choline cannot freely cross cell membranes, and choline transport is critical for maintaining cellular health and function. Deficiencies in choline transport can lead to significant cellular dysfunction, contributing to conditions such as autoimmune hearing loss and neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer′s and Parkinson′s. Through facilitating choline movement across cell membranes, CTL2 helps ensure adequate cellular levels of this important nutrient, supporting processes such as neurotransmission and membrane integrity.

ist der Antikörper von Maus, der nicht nur Human-CTL-2 aber Maus-CTL-2 erkennt? Gibt es bereits eine Studie, ob dieser Antikörper auch funktionell was macht?

Asked by: sasen1
Thank you for your question. CTL2 Antibody (F7): sc-101266 is recommended for detection of CTL2 of mouse, rat and human origin by IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA. We do not have data on the antibody's performance in functional assays as opposed to detection applications.

Can sc-101266: CTL2 (F7) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-101266: CTL2 (F7) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
