CstF-50 Antibody (G-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects CstF-50 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CstF-50 plays a crucial role in the polyadenylation of mRNA precursors, a vital process for gene expression regulation and mRNA stability. CstF-50 is part of the cleavage stimulation factor (CstF) complex, which is essential for the endonucleolytic cleavage of polyadenylation substrates. CstF-50 subunit shares extensive homology with mammalian G protein beta-subunits and features a unique transducin repeat domain, consisting of seven repeated 44-amino acid sequences. This structural feature facilitates CstF-50′s interaction with other nuclear proteins, such as BARD1, which associates with BRCA1 and plays a role in inhibiting polyadenylation in vitro. By forming stable complexes with various polyadenylation and 3′-end cleavage factors, CstF-50 is integral to the regulation of mRNA processing, making CstF-50 a key player in maintaining proper gene expression and cellular function.
