Csk Antibody (CSK-04) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Csk in mouse, rat, and human samples through western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP) applications. Csk, or C-terminal Src kinase, plays a crucial role in regulating the activity of Src family tyrosine kinases, which are essential for various cellular processes, including proliferation, differentiation, and survival. By phosphorylating Src on the tyrosine residue Y527, Csk effectively downregulates Src activity, thereby maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing uncontrolled cell growth. This regulatory mechanism is particularly important in the context of cancer, where aberrant Src activity can lead to tumorigenesis. Additionally, Csk interacts with other Src family kinases such as Lyn, Fyn, and Lck, modulating their activity through similar phosphorylation events. The ability of Csk to fine-tune the signaling pathways involving these kinases underscores its significance in cellular signaling and its potential as a therapeutic target in diseases characterized by Src overactivity.
