SEE ALSO...

CSA Antibody (D-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CSA protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CSA (D-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CSA protein plays a crucial role in the nucleotide excision repair pathway, specifically in the preferential repair of DNA lesions on the transcribed strand of active genes, a process vital for maintaining genomic stability and preventing mutations that can lead to diseases such as cancer. This preferential repair mechanism is directed by CSA and its homolog CSB, which work together to ensure that the DNA template strand is repaired more efficiently than the non-transcribed strand. Mutations in CSA gene are associated with Cockayne′s syndrome, a disorder characterized by sensitivity to ultraviolet light and developmental defects, highlighting CSA′s importance in cellular response to DNA damage. CSA protein is classified within the "WD-repeat" family, known for its role in protein-protein interactions, further emphasizing CSA′s significance in cellular repair processes.
