SEE ALSO...

CRY2 Antibody (3H4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects CRY2 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CRY2 antibody (3H4) is available as the non-conjugated form. CRY2 plays a crucial role in regulating circadian rhythms, acting as a light-independent inhibitor of the circadian clock. CRY2 is primarily located in the nucleus of cells, where CRY2 interacts with key transcription factors such as Clock and BMAL1, which are essential for generating and maintaining circadian rhythms. By forming heterodimers with other proteins like Per1 and Per2, CRY2 helps modulate the activity of these transcription factors, thereby influencing gene expression involved in light/dark cycle entrainment. This regulation is vital for maintaining the body′s internal clock, which affects various physiological processes, including sleep-wake cycles, hormonal secretions, and metabolic functions. CRY2′s ability to inhibit Clock-BMAL1 dimers underscores CRY2′s importance in feedback mechanisms that sustain circadian rhythms, making CRY2 a significant target for studies related to sleep disorders and metabolic diseases.

Can sc-293263: CRY2 (3H4) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-293263: CRY2 (3H4) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
