SEE ALSO...

Crossveinless-2 Antibody (G-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Crossveinless-2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Crossveinless-2 antibody (G-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Crossveinless-2, also known as BMP-binding endothelial regulator protein, Cvl2, or Cv2, is a member of the Chordin family and plays a crucial role in regulating bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) signaling during embryonic development. Crossveinless-2 is primarily secreted and is characterized by a unique structure, which includes a trypsin inhibitory-like (TIL) domain, five von Willebrand factor type C (VWFC) domains, and one von Willebrand factor type D (VWFD) domain. These domains facilitate Crossveinless-2′s interaction with BMPs, particularly BMP4 and BMP2, allowing modulation of BMP signaling pathways effectively. Through binding to these ligands, Crossveinless-2 can either enhance or inhibit BMP signaling, thereby influencing critical developmental processes. Expression occurs at sites of high BMP activity, providing a feedback mechanism essential for proper embryonic development. Crossveinless-2′s ability to aid in ligand transport further underscores importance in maintaining BMP homeostasis, making Crossveinless-2 a vital component in the intricate network of signaling pathways that govern cellular differentiation and tissue formation.
