CRELD2 Antibody (A-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CRELD2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CRELD2 (A-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for different experimental needs. CRELD2, known as cysteine-rich with EGF-like domains 2, is a 353 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in cellular processes, including cell adhesion and development, due to its structure, which features two fibronectin type III-like domains and two EGF-like domains. These structural elements are essential for CRELD2′s function, as they facilitate interactions with other proteins and contribute to CRELD2′s stability and localization within the endoplasmic reticulum, where CRELD2 is synthesized and subsequently secreted. CRELD2 has been shown to interact with the acetylcholine receptor subunit AChRα4, potentially influencing transport and function, which is vital for neuromuscular signaling. Notably, human CRELD2 shares 69% amino acid identity with mouse CRELD2, indicating a conserved role across species, and multiple isoforms arise from alternative splicing, adding complexity to CRELD2′s functional repertoire. The gene encoding CRELD2 is located on human chromosome 22, a region associated with various genetic disorders, including Phelan-McDermid syndrome and neurofibromatosis type 2, highlighting the importance of studying CRELD2 in the context of human health and disease.
