CPT1-C Antibody (B-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects CPT1-C protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CPT1-C (B-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CPT1-C protein, also known as carnitine palmitoyltransferase 1C, plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism by facilitating the transport of long-chain fatty acids into the mitochondria for β-oxidation, a vital process for energy production. CPT1-C is primarily expressed in the testis and brain, where CPT1-C exists as three alternatively spliced isoforms encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 19q13.33. CPT1-C functions as a rate-limiting enzyme in the transport of fatty acids, which is essential for maintaining cellular energy homeostasis and metabolic flexibility. Through catalyzing the conversion of palmitoyl-CoA and L-carnitine to CoA and L-palmitoylcarnitine, CPT1-C ensures efficient fatty acid utilization for energy, particularly during periods of fasting or increased energy demand.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-514555 P appropriate for?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for mouse myeloid cellsWe're using the CPT1-C Antibody (E-19), which was discontinued and I requested a sample in case that we were lucky, we tried 1:500 milk 5%, over night 4C, with sc-secondary anti-mouse IgG, plus ECL over 30 min, we were not able to find any band close to the specified size ~90 kDa, I will try as soon as we have human samples with it, I appreciate the help anyhow.
