SEE ALSO...

Cornulin Antibody (A-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects cornulin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-cornulin antibody (A-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Cornulin, also referred to as tumor-related protein, CRNN, SEP53 (squamous epithelial heat shock protein 53), DRC1, or PDRC1, is a 495 amino acid cytoplasmic protein that plays a crucial role in epidermal differentiation and epithelial immune response. Cornulin is specifically expressed in squamous epithelial cells, including those found in esophagus, cultured primary keratinocytes, scalp skin, foreskin, and fetal bladder. Cornulin′s structure shares homology with S-100 proteins, profilaggrin, Repetin, and Trichohyalin, suggesting potential as a marker for late epidermal differentiation and cancer development. Cornulin is upregulated by deoxycholic acid, heat shock, and ponasterone A, and contains one EF-hand domain, which is vital for protecting cells from deoxycholic acid-induced death. The gene encoding cornulin is located on human chromosome 1q21.3 and mouse chromosome 3 F2.1, highlighting evolutionary conservation and significance in cellular processes.
