SEE ALSO...

COQ7 Antibody (F-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects COQ7 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). COQ7 Antibody (F-9) is available in non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. COQ7, a homolog of the Timing protein CLK-1, consists of 217 amino acids and is encoded by the mouse gene Coq7. COQ7 plays a crucial role in the biosynthesis of Coenzyme Q (CoQ), an essential co-factor in mitochondrial respiration, vital for energy production in cells. COQ7′s importance is underscored by involvement in maintaining mitochondrial integrity and supporting neurogenesis, particularly in tissues with high energy demands such as heart, muscle, liver, and kidney. Following transcription, COQ7 is directed to mitochondria, where processing achieves mature form. Conservation of function among CLK-1/clk-1/COQ7 gene products suggests a significant link between ubiquinone production and aging process, highlighting potential implications in age-related mitochondrial dysfunction.
