Copine 1/3 Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects copine 1/3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Copine 1/3 (E-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The copine family consists of evolutionarily conserved, calcium-dependent membrane-binding proteins that play crucial roles in signal transduction and membrane trafficking, with the ability to bind phospholipids in a calcium-dependent manner. Copine 1, also known as CPNE1, CPN1, or COPN1, is widely expressed and features two N-terminal C2 domains and one C-terminal von Willebrand factor A (VWFA) domain, which is essential for function. The VWFA domain of copine 1 directly interacts with the ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme UBC12, suggesting a role in the regulation of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFα) signaling pathways, which are critical for inflammatory responses and cell survival. Additionally, copine 3, known as CPNE3, CPN3, or COPN3, shares a similar structure with two N-terminal C2 domains and one C-terminal VWFA domain, but may also exhibit intrinsic kinase activity, highlighting the diverse functional capabilities within the copine family.
