COPD Antibody (E-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects COPD protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). COPD (E-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. COPD protein plays a crucial role in membrane and vesicular trafficking within the early secretory pathway, specifically through the mediation of non-Clathrin coat protein I-coated vesicles. COPI-coated vesicles are essential for retrograde transport from the Golgi apparatus back to the endoplasmic reticulum, as well as for intra-Golgi transport, which is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and proper protein sorting. The cytosolic precursor of the COPI coat, known as the heptameric coatomer complex, consists of two subcomplexes: the first includes COPB, COPG, COPD, and COPZ subunits (also referred to as β-, γ-, δ-, and ζ-COP, respectively), which share distant homology with AP Clathrin adaptor subunits, while the second subcomplex comprises COPA, β′-COP, and COPE subunits (also known as α-COP, COPP, and ε-COP, respectively). This intricate structure and function of COPD protein underscore its importance in cellular transport mechanisms, making anti-COPD antibody (E-12) an invaluable tool for researchers studying these processes.
