COPA Antibody (H-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects COPA protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-COPA antibody (H-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. COPA protein, also known as α-coat protein, plays a crucial role in the early secretory pathway by mediating membrane and vesicular trafficking through non-Clathrin coat protein I-coated vesicles. COPI-coated vesicles are essential for retrograde transport from Golgi apparatus back to endoplasmic reticulum, as well as for intra-Golgi transport, which is vital for maintaining cellular function and homeostasis. The heptameric coatomer complex, which is the cytosolic precursor of the COPI coat, consists of two subcomplexes: one containing β-, γ-, δ-, and ζ-COP subunits, and another comprising α-COP, b′-COP, and ε-COP subunits. Understanding COPA structure and function is important, as COPA not only facilitates proper trafficking of proteins within cells but also plays a significant role in various cellular processes, including secretion and signal transduction.
