Connexin 30 Antibody (G-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects connexin 30 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-connexin 30 antibody (G-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Connexin 30, also known as GJB6, is a 261 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein that plays a crucial role in cell communication by forming hexameric complexes called connexons, which facilitate the transfer of low molecular weight molecules between adjacent cells through gap junctions. Connexin 30 is primarily located at cell junctions, where its presence is vital for maintaining tissue homeostasis and coordinating cellular responses. Disruptions in connexin 30 function can lead to significant pathologies, including ectodermal dysplasia type 2 and non-syndromic sensorineural deafness autosomal dominant type 3, highlighting connexin 30′s importance in both developmental processes and auditory function. Specific interactions of connexin 30 with other connexin proteins further underscore connexin 30′s role in forming functional gap junctions, which are essential for intercellular communication and overall tissue health.
