    SEE ALSO...

CMAS Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CMAS protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CMAS (E-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CMAS, also known as cytidine monophosphate N-acetylneuraminic acid synthetase or CMP-sialic acid synthetase, is a crucial 434 amino acid enzyme that plays a significant role in sialic acid metabolism. CMAS is primarily located in the nucleus, where CMAS functions as a homotetramer, catalyzing the conversion of N-acetylneuraminic acid and cytidine triphosphate (CTP) into cytidine 5′-monophosphate N-acetylneuraminic acid (CMP-NeuNAc). CMP-NeuNAc serves as a donor substrate for sialyltransferases, which are responsible for adding sialic acid to the terminal ends of glycoproteins, polysaccharides, and glycolipids. This post-translational modification is vital for proper development, structure, and function of animal tissues, influencing various biological processes such as cell signaling, immune response, and cellular interactions.

Hi, could you let me know what is the concentration of CMAS Antibody (E-8): sc-398296 that you used for the image above (immunofluoroscence of HeLa)? Thanks.

    Asked by: yp292
Thank you for your question. CMAS (E-8) is recommended for detection of CMAS of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (starting dilution 1:100, dilution range 1:100-1:1000), immunoprecipitation [1-2µg per 100-500 µg of total protein (1 ml of cell lysate)], immunofluorescence (starting dilution 1:50, dilution range 1:50-1:500), and solid phase ELISA (starting dilution 1:30, dilution range 1:30-1:300).

What application is the blocking peptide sc-398296 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
